EXCLUSIVE: Meghan Markle has become "increasingly isolated" from the Royal Family following her decision not to attend the Coronation of King Charles III, according to one commentator.

Meghan Markle now finds herself firmly in the "wilderness" with the Royal Family after deciding to snub the Coronation of King Charles III this weekend, it has been claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex is not accompanying Prince Harry to the landmark event at Westminster Abbey after it was announced she is remaining at home in California with the couple's two young children.

This has led to speculation Meghan has become "increasingly isolated" from the Royal Family following a string of bombshell accusations made over the past couple of years.

Meghan has not been pictured with the royals since attending the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II last September, and many royal commentators are warning not to expect that to change anytime soon.

Nile Gardiner, a royal enthusiast and former aide of the late Lady Margaret Thatcher told Express.co.uk: "Meghan has become increasingly isolated from the Royal Family.

"Her standing within the Royal Family and across the UK has hit rock bottom.

"She is an intensely unpopular and disliked figure and now finds herself literally in the wilderness as regards to the Royal Family."

Mr Gardiner claimed Meghan would have received a furious backlash from the British public had she appeared alongside Harry at the Coronation due to the claims she and Harry have made against the Royal Family over the past couple of years.

He believes such a backlash would have been "immensely damaging" to her brand, which seemingly is vital to Meghan having recently signed up with Hollywood talent agency WME.

The royal enthusiast continued: "They both should not have been invited to the Coronation in the first place. This decision has a great deal to do with the unpopularity of Meghan in the UK.

"More than anything, the fear of being booed by the public while attending the Coronation would have been immensely damaging to her brand.

"I suspect Meghan's spin doctors agonised over this decision for many weeks and decided this was too high-risk in terms of negative British reaction. That is the key factor here."

The decision for Meghan not to attend the Coronation over fears of a furious backlash damaging the Sussex brand is one shared by a marketing and consumer research.

Professor Pauline Maclaran from Royal Holloway University in London believes if Meghan and Harry had attended event as a "power couple", they may have seen much more hostility come their way.

She argued Meghan not attending will "dilute the hostility" and saved the Sussex brand from being negatively impacted.

The expert toldExpress.co.uk: "If they attended the Coronation as a couple, they would find it very difficult because I think they are likely to be booed.

"There is a lot of hostile feeling in the UK, particularly since their recent comments.

Harry coming on his own will dilute that because although he still runs the risk of maybe facing some hostility, there won't be nearly as much than if they came as a power couple, which would have attracted much more attention

"The Duke of Sussex coming on his own will garner more sympathy."

Professor Maclaran continued: "If they both go, they both risk looking very foolish if they are met with a lot of hostility and that would be very bad for their brand.

"On the other hand, if they don't go at all, they are cutting off from the royals even though they still have their titles.

"They really do need to top up their royal tinsel and glamour. This is the ideal compromise - Harry comes and they are still reinforcing of their importance in terms of him being the son of the King

"They are reinforcing their royal connections but limiting their reputational damage through the hostility they will face."
