William inherited the £1 billion Duchy of Cornwall estate and the title of Duke of Cornwall following Queen Elizabeth's death in September 2022.

Prince William has embarked on a two-day visit to the southwest of England, marking his first overnight trip since his wife, Princess Kate, was diagnosed with cancer.

And the perfect retreat awaited him at the end of a busy day in the form of a stunning Scilly holiday home. On Friday (May 10), the Prince is visiting the breathtaking Isles of Scilly, where a lesser-known Royal holiday home is located.

It's believed that William has spent time at Tamarisk House in the past, both as a child with his parents King Charles and Princess Diana, and brother Prince Harry, and later with his own wife Kate and their three children.

Tamarisk House is nestled on St Mary's, the largest and most populous of the Isles of Scilly, which spans just over six square miles and is home to around 1,800 residents.

This beautiful mid-1960s property sits on a quarter acre of land, boasting four bedrooms and is largely concealed by tamarisk trees for the royals' privacy.

The house features two ground floor bedrooms with sea views and a family bathroom. Upstairs, there's a twin bedroom with an en suite shower room and a master bedroom.

From the living room, warmed by a wood burner, or from the sun terrace, one can enjoy stunning views of St Mary's, reports the Mirror.

Now under the stewardship of William, Tamarisk House is being touted as the "new flagship addition", nestled in the historic Garrison and just a five-minute stroll from the amenities of Hugh Town, St Mary's Quay and the Harbour.

Moreover, the public can rent out Tamarisk House for their own use. Owned by the Duchy of Cornwall, it boasts wifi, hi-fi, smart TVs and a well-equipped kitchen, with prices ranging from £1,315 to £5,295 for a week-long stay, depending on the time of year.

On Thursday, William's first day in Cornwall saw him visiting the site of the Duchy of Cornwall's inaugural homeless housing project in Nansleden, Newquay.

Meanwhile, Friday marked his maiden official visit to the Isles of Scilly since assuming the title of Duke of Cornwall in September 2022. The Duke is set to visit St Mary's Harbour, managed by the Duchy and responsible for handling passengers and vessels.

He will also spend time with harbour operators before making a trip to St Mary's Community Hospital.
