“It was an absolutely incredible and wonderful time,” Klopp reflected. “I loved it. My family were on the pitch. I will come back occasionally as a supporter and I'm fine with that. Not for the first game of the season - maybe after the second international break!”

According to the men's international match calendar, international breaks are scheduled for September 1-9, October 6-14 and November 10-18, 2024 for Nations League football.

When asked what his first few days will look like after officially leaving Liverpool, Klopp joked in reply by claiming that he will be preparing to kickstart his travels as he said: “Packing probably!”

Klopp signed off his tenure in style before a spine-tingling speech in the middle of the Anfield pitch, with a full house all remaining at the stadium long after the full-time whistle blew, paying home to the man that delivered their first Premier League title and a win.

“Job done,” Klopp reflected in some of his final words in charge of Liverpool. “I love them all, everything about the club, but it's time for me to go. It's not burning behind me, so that gives me a good feeling. I know I'll come back, I'm a Liverpool supporter and I love that.

“It was, today, wonderful. I want to thank everybody. I loved how we said goodbye to the staff, how the players did. Jurgen Klopp (as Liverpool manager) is so much more than Jurgen Klopp - I alone would have done nothing.”
